Boating on Sparrow Lake (Gravenhurst)

Boating and muskoka go together like tom and jerry.  Sparrow lake is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway which means you can navigate out to Georgian Bay in one direction or all the way out to the Atlantic Ocean in the other.  Take a look at the map here.

What if I just want to paddle around?

If you're just looking to propel yourself around by hand, you can make use of the canoe, rowboat and paddleboat supplied at the cottage.  Just launch straight off the end of the dock.  Enjoy

Can I bring my own boat?

Yep, no problem.  We have a dock where you can dock your boat, the water depth at the dock is about 5 feet.  You can launch it locally (see below for where) and moor it on the dock at the cottage. The dock will be in the water from Victoria day weekend (May) thru thanksgiving weekend (October), weather permitting

Can I rent a boat?

Yes indeed.  Lauderdale Point Marina and Sopher's Landing Marina are both on Sparrow Lake and rent boats.  Muskoka Wharf Marine and Northern Lakes Marine will deliver boats right to the local boat launch for ya.

Where's the local boat launch?

Down the road at either Lauderdale Point Marina or Sopher's Landing Marina.  There's also a public boat launch just around the corner at Franklin Park.  Easy peasy.
