Welcome!

We love sharing Trenanthia Cottage because we reckon

Life is bigger together

She's pronounced truhNANthiahhh as a tribute to relaxing with Grandma, and there's three lakeside cottages spread around Muskoka - each similarly fabulous, with their own independent loveliness:

Group of friends playing beach volleyball

on Sparrow Lake in Gravenhurst, Muskoka

Bunch of children in the lakeside hot tub

on Morrison Lake in Gravenhurst, Muskoka

Two women posing by an outdoor cedar barrel sauna

on Wood Lake in Bracebridge, Muskoka

Bring a dozen of your favourite peeps to soak up the outdoor hot tub & sauna, the vintage games room, the big sandy beach with horseshoes, & the copious water toys (yep, they all have a canoe!)

We're Open All Year with lakeside fire pits & log fireplaces to snuggle in front of with your Fur Family (also yep, pets are welcome).  Bliss~

And, it's always been more than sharing a roof over our heads...
Way more.

What it means to us

What’re some of your favourite childhood memories?

For our family, many involved being out in nature with our Grandma.

We grew up in a small, impoverished part of town with a single mom that tried her best while suffering from alcoholism.  Home was a dismal place - full of depression, sadness, and as the drink kicked in, the inevitable verbal abuse.

To this day, we're not sure if our grandparents whisked us away for a reprieve, or just because they wanted to spend time with us.

Either way, it was wonderful!

Almost every weekend in the warm weather, they’d pick us kids up in their big yellow school bus that they’d converted into an RV-of-sorts.  We’d spend time in nature, laughing & playing during the day, and enjoying each other’s company around the fire pit in the evenings.

Those times together meant more than just the memories we still cherish to this day - it was also a lifeline

There is no better salve for the wounds of an underprivileged childhood, than the joy of spending time away from it all.

To be able to imagine the world as a better, kinder place.  To build hope that there is more to life than what we see, feel & experience each day.

To dream of something more.

It is these dreams that have brought Trenanthia Cottage to life.  We wish to share 'er with everyone out there - and most especially with those who need a little bit of ...

extra sunshine in our lives

May we all find an opportunity to share memories, hope, and lifelines with one another

The best thing to hold onto in life is each other
