There is lots to do at the cottage itself which you can see in our What is Supplied section and on our Extra Fun page. But for other activities in the area, the Muskoka Tourist Information Centre is about 10 minutes
away on Highway 11 north of Severn Bridge. You can also contact their

Trenanthia Cottage is located on an inlet off of Sparrow Lake, in the Muskokas
region of Ontario, Canada. It's famous for it's thousands of lakes,
beautiful scenery, and abundance of nature in combination with a hive
of local activities to suit anyone's interests.
Warm Weather Activities:
- Enjoy some fishing - Sparrow Lake has excellent fishing, find out more about it on our Fishing page
- Do some hiking/walking - find out more about it on our Trails - Snowmobile, Hike, Ski, Cycle and more! page
- Visit the cascades by walking to some Waterfalls or visit High Falls water park in Bracebridge
- Do a night climb at Eaglecrest Aerial park
- Or just a normal walk around in the tree tops during the day at Eaglecrest Aerial park
- Boat around Sparrow Lake (part of the Trent-Severn water way) - use the supplied boats at the cottage or access the local boat launch with a boat rental - Muskoka Wharf Marine and Northern Lakes Marine will deliver boats right to the local boat launch for you.
- Go to the drive-in at the Muskoka Drive-in Theatre!
- Eat a fantastic burger at Webers "world famous" burgers (okay, well, maybe not "world famous" but they are something special)!
- Go to the "Zoo" - Muskoka Wildlife Centre (only 10 minutes away!)
- Take a boat cruise around one of the lakes - The Segwun (Gravenhurst), Lady Muskoka cruises (bracebridge)
- Go to the unfortunately named "Santa's Village" family entertainment park which is really just a grand fairground with rides, go-karts, batting cage, mini-golf, laser tag, and arcade
- Go swimming - off the end of the dock, off the public pathway at the end of our lane, or at the local public beach (Franklin Park at the end of Kilworthy Road)
- Visit one of the farmer's markets - the Gravenhurst market, the Bracebridge market or the Mariposa Market in Orillia
- Enjoy some summer concerts at The Kee to Bala - a tradition since 1942
- Do some golfing - Taboo resort, spa & golf, Muskoka Highlands, Horseshoe Valley Resort, Lake St. George Golf, Evergreen Golf Centre
- Rent a kayak at the Paddle Shack Sporting Goods, or just have a look around
- And for those unfortunate rainy days, dry out with a bit of family bowling or ping pong on the Nintendo Wii (available to rent in the cottage)!

- Go see a movie for charity :) Spinning Reels is a Bracebridge-based not-for-profit group bringing great movies to Muskoka. Their movies run on the second and fourth Monday of most months, September to May. If you'd like to stay over at the cottage for the movie, make sure to mention it to us!
- Go Snowmobiling - the Muskoka region is famous for its' excellent snowmobiling trails, find out more about it on our Snowmobiling page
- Get a work-out with Nordic or Cross-country skiing - on your doorstep out the back door of the cottage! Find out more on our Trails - Snowmobile, Hike, Ski, Cycle and more! page
- Enjoy some ice fishing - Sparrow Lake has excellent fishing - visit our Ice Fishing page for more!
- Tromp through the maple syrup farm at Maple Orchard Farms (during syrup season)

- Create your own ice-skating rink at the cottage!
- Enjoy playing in the snow on the 2 acres of property around the cottage, including a toddler's tobogganing hill
- Have a blast snow tubing with 6 runs at Rock Ridge Snow Tubing Park!
- Enjoy some downhill skiing - Horseshoe Valley Resort (40 minutes away), Mount St. Louis Moonstone (40 minutes away), Hidden Valley Highlands (50 minutes away). And here's a great resource looking at the rates of various ski resorts.
- Take on some ice climbing perhaps with a course at Muskoka Outfitters.
